| Virgin Nigeria, is the new Nigerian flag carrier. It is an entirely private sector partnership owned 51% by major Nigerian institutional investors, and 49% by Virgin Atlantic Limited (which itself is owned 51% by Sir Richard Branson and 49% by Singapore Airlines). Virgin Nigeria is commencing operations during mid-2005, and will operate routes from its hudomestically within Nigeria, regionally around Africa and intercontinentally to Europe, Middle East, Asia and Americas.
